Geographic Environment
Volcanic Soil – Golden Malabar Estate benefits from an exceptional geographical environment. Our estate is surrounded by over 7,000 hectares of vast tea plantations, with geothermal activity nearby. It lies in a region of young volcanic activity (less than 8 million years old), and the soil contains very low levels of heavy metals. High Altitude & Significant Temperature Variance – Coffee trees are planted at altitudes between 1,511 and 2,313 meters, with an average of 1,800 meters. The large day-to-night temperature variation allows the coffee fruit to undergo a natural dormancy, resulting in larger, sweeter fruits, creating the ideal conditions for Arabica coffee cultivation. Traditional Planting – Coffee trees within the estate are shaded by poplar and cinnamon trees, ensuring the preservation of the natural ecosystem and soil and water conservation. |
